25th April: We come back into college and I decided to finish off drawing my story board so I know what shots I need to take and what angle I need to take them at.
29th April: Today I started to film my project, it started it off well but then half way through the camera decided to die on me so we had to stop filming.
30th April: I carried on filming and this time I made sure that the camera was fully charged so I didn't have to stop half way through this time I managed to get all the bits I planned to get done finished for this day as it started to get very late.
1st May: I yet again carried on filming to try and get some more clips but this time I had to wait till it got a lot darker and during the time I was waiting I was looking through my clips from the night before to make sure that they look good enough and that it all makes sense.
2nd May: My final day of filming for the weekend I yet again had to wait for it to get dark so I can film the last couple of bits of my film and I think overall my filming was a success but I guess I will need to find out when I put the footage onto the computers to see if it all looks alright.
3rd May: I put all my clips onto the college MACs and started to put all my clips into premier pro.
4th May: I started to edit my clips that I filmed over the weekend and see what clips I am missing.
16th May: Today I booked the camera equipment out again so that I can go and film all of my remaining shots that I forgot to film when I had the equipment before and I also found some more sounds that I could use.
17th May: Today I added most of the sound I used in my film onto my website and I went over all the videos and pictures that I got from the internet and Harvard referenced them.
23rd May: Today I edited all the clips I filmed over the weekend and whilst I was editing I was trying out new things such as video effects I also sorted out most of my sound issues that I had and I came up with a new ending.
24th May: So I sent my edit to a couple of my tutors and they have given me back some feedback on it. So I got told to by both of them to brighten up the dark clips near the end of my film because they are really hard to see and cut them down so I get to the shed door quicker. I also need to add some colour correction to the dream so that it looks more like a dream compared the real world. I also got told to change the sound effect as it doesn't suit the style of film. I also got told that the film was better with one of my other endings where she is standing over me in the corner of the room as it then leaves the audience something to think about. I can also add for future ideas/productions is that I remove the walking shots and change them with some shots of me comparing houses with the picture I found. And I need to add for the future is how my character finds the house.

Evaluation
So my original idea was to make a horror and it all to be done at night time but once I did some more research I found out that it would be hard to get the lighting correct on some of the field shots due to there being no light and it being in the middle of no where so I ended up making the outside part of my film be in day light and then I watched some other films being in a field and I ended up finding cowboys and aliens and what I liked about that was the waking up in the field so I decided to use that scene and make it the start of my film but then I watched some more of the film and I found out that they used a picture in that scene as well when he woken up so I thought to my self what could I use that will fit that picture well so I decided to use my house as the photo so my character then had a reason to leave and find out why he has this photo. The audience liked this part of the film because one it was well shot and two it made them want to carry on watching to figure out why this house was so important. I then had to find out a way to get to the house so I a look around my area and found a hedge that I could walk through to bring my character closer to its final destination but then I had the problem of how does he find the house after that like does he go and ask people have they seen this house or does he just walk for miles upon miles until he suddenly stumbles across the house and I ended up doing the walking shots because I did have a lack of people to help me film this. What people didn't like about this idea of the character just walking was that it will just get boring and makes the viewer lose interest and I had some suggestions that I will certainly use in future films is that when walking around instead of just showing the feet I show my character constantly checking the photo and comparing to other houses as he goes past them. Once my character found the house the house I had to come up with something to make this house even more scarier so I went and had a look at some short horrors and found one that I liked and it was a box that made music so I decided to have my character go up to the front door and then go to knock on the door and then as he's about to he hears a noise and then he goes and investigates what the noise is. What people said about this is that because this scene is shot in the dark is that it can't be seen very well and that they can only see my white jumper and nothing else so I had to try and my character from the front door the shed door as fast as possible what people liked about it the music as it gets louder when my character gets closer and closer to the box. Once my character got to the box I then had to come up with an idea abut what's going to be in the box and at first I was just going to have coins but then I had an idea about putting another photo in there and I tried that with the photo being a younger version of myself and then someone holding the photo when I wake up from the dream but then I found out that not many people could see of understand what was going on so I decided to change that and go with a different photo that's when I cam up with the idea of a demon type thing and then it made more sense when I took the photo out of the box and then it was a photo of this little girl and then she stepped out into frame and then It suddenly changes into me sleeping and her stood in the corner of my room.
My planning helped a lot because I ended up changing my idea half way through due to some difficulties with lighting and locations and with my planning I looked at a few youtube videos and they helped me get some ideas such as the start to my film and the music coming from the box and one of the camera angles when opening the box and the viewer not being able to see what's inside the box straight away. Looking at what different types of of camera angles there where helped me come up with some new techniques I wanted to try out such as the long distance shot I also wanted to have the bit where I walk up to the door shot through my doors peep hole but when went to try and do it during a test shoot I couldn't see anything so I decided not to use that shot.
What I thought on my finished project is that I feel like if I spent more time doing more research I could've came up with a better idea and I also feel if I started filming earlier I could've got some more shots and different angles instead of just the normal shots but I do feel like I have achieved something whilst making this film and that I have learned some new techniques not just with filming but with editing to such as using more effects and making the dream effect even though I know all I did was tint the screen and add some waves onto the screen it was still new to me, I also think if I did spend more time on this that it could be a lot better and have such a better plot but ultimately I did enjoy making this and I think I did well.
